Background

Lindy obtained a BCom (Law) degree in 2004 and an LLB degree in 2005 from the University of Pretoria. She has been an attorney of the High Court of South Africa since 2007 and a qualified conveyancer and notary public since 2008. Lindy is a director of KISCH IP and Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. She has more than 19 years’ experience in intellectual property law.

Lindy specialises in the strategic management of complex intellectual property portfolios across Africa and other jurisdictions. Her practice includes specialist notarial services, advising clients on the protection and preservation of valuable intellectual property assets, and developing and implementing cross-border renewal strategies and portfolio optimisation programmes. She advises multinational and other clients on jurisdictional coverage, portfolio rationalisation, cost optimisation and the proactive management of risks that could result in the loss of valuable intellectual property rights. Her approach is commercially focused, balancing effective legal protection with cost efficiency and the broader business objectives of her clients.

In addition to her client practice, Lindy plays a significant leadership role within KISCH IP as Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. In this capacity, she leads the firm through complex governance, regulatory, operational and risk-related matters. Her role requires strategic leadership, sound judgement and the ability to manage high-risk and commercially sensitive issues while continuing to provide strategic advice to clients.
