Refiloe obtained an LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a director of KISCH IP with more than 10 years’ experience in intellectual property law. Refiloe is currently training towards becoming a notary public.
Refiloe specialises in the management of complex intellectual property renewal portfolios across multiple jurisdictions. Her practice requires an in-depth understanding of differing legislative requirements, procedural formalities and renewal practices, together with a strategic approach to the long-term management of intellectual property portfolios. She advises clients on renewal strategy, portfolio rationalisation, jurisdictional coverage and the optimisation of intellectual property portfolios from both a legal and commercial perspective.
Her work includes identifying and managing risks associated with the maintenance of intellectual property rights, assessing the continued value and relevance of portfolio assets, and developing cost-effective strategies that support clients’ broader commercial objectives. Refiloe works closely with clients to ensure that their intellectual property portfolios are effectively maintained and strategically managed across jurisdictions. Her extensive experience enables her to navigate complex legislative and procedural requirements while providing practical, commercially focused advice aimed at preserving and maximising the value of valuable intellectual property assets.
