KISCH IP has created a scholarship programme, which forms part of our practice’s broader BEE initiative and is aimed at giving previously disadvantaged students the opportunity of studying Law and entering the field of Intellectual Property. The programme is focused on those students with a technical degree who are interested in studying further and ultimately qualifying as Patent Attorneys. The reason for this focus is that there are very few people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are qualified and practising as Patent Attorneys in South Africa. This means that there are outstanding career opportunities. Through this programme, KISCH IP hopes to introduce this specialised field to students and to motivate those students who are interested in studying in this field to do so.
